    Description

Here's an early cow bone toothbrush (minus the hog hair bristles) that we dug from an 1860s outhouse privy pit .... ...It is made of a cow bone and has a pointed handle....5 7/8"long........4 rows of holes where the hog hair bristles once were...It has a couple sliver chips off handle;.... Not many people bothered brushing their teeth back in the 1800s. The few households that had a toothbrush would usually share one toothbrush between the entire family..
