Antique Dumore Dental Lab Engine on Stand - Excellent Condition & Working
This Dumore dental lab engine is about 100 years old. It is in excellent condition and works perfectly. The engine rotates on a fixed stand with a heavy iron base. It features a switch for forward and reverse direction. Also included are the chrome arm, a Doriot handpiece and a new engine belt. Operation is by an on-off footswitch control made by Linemaster.
The burs (drill bits) it uses are the same size as those for a Dremel tool. I had to photograph it in two parts due to its height. The stand from floor to engine is approx. 4 feet, and the engine arm is approx. 22”.
The plate on the engine reads Dumore, Racine Wisconsin, Type 50, .52 amp, 10,000 RPM, 1/25 HP. The patent date on the arm is Dec. 7, 20 (1920).
From their website: “In 1913, L.H. Hamilton and Chester H. Beach laid the foundation for a new company. Their goal was to produce labor-saving, motor-driven electrical devices. They envisioned products built with better designs and better components than competition of the day. The original company was called the Wisconsin Electric Company. It soon became Dumore Corporation.”
