    A SET OF TWENTY-THREE EARLY DENTAL TOOLS by Lukens & Whittington, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. All have ebony handles, German silver ferrules and are in top condition. Anson R. Lukens and James W. Whittington manufactured dental tools in Philadelphia at 626 Race Street beginning in 1866 and continuing until the very beginning of the Twentieth Century. These pre-sterilization era tools were likely produced in the earliest years of their production. All are marked with the designation L. & W./Philada. and are in excellent condition.
